Dear music lovers,
It is with great joy that I welcome you to the 2025 edition of the Beethoven Festival in Beaune. This year, our theme is “Domaine Familial” celebrating the rich musical legacies of some of the most illustrious families in classical music.
From April 3 to 6, 2025, we invite you to join us on a journey through the remarkable stories of the Couperin, Bach, Mendelssohn, and Schumann families, among others. These families have left a lasting cultural legacy in the world of classical music, inspiring one another and future generations with their exceptional and intimate works.
Our festival will highlight the mutual inspiration, similarities, and unique differences within these musical dynasties. The audience will delight in hearing the intricate fugues of Johann Sebastian Bach, the lyrical melodies of Felix Mendelssohn, and the passionate compositions of Robert and Clara Schumann.
This edition will explore the reciprocal inspirations that drove these families to create some of the most profound music in history. We will discover how their relationships influenced their compositions, making their achievements not only milestones in classical music but also treasures of humanity.
Our concerts will be held in the historic venues of Beaune, including the magnificent Hospices de Beaune and the charming Lanterne Magique. These locations, rich in cultural and architectural heritage, provide the perfect setting for our musical festivities. Each concert will be an immersive experience, blending history, culture, and music in a harmonious celebration.
